in a more recreational manner. For more information see our

Bay County Academy encourages families to support student
attendance and the importance of educational achievement
by limiting appointments and vacations to times outside
of the regularly scheduled school day and calendar. Vacation
plans extended beyond three consecutive days during the
school year require a formal application process in advance.
Vacation applications are submitted to the CAO for approval

are available from the school office. It is the parent
and student responsibility to obtain missed assignments.
On the first day back from vacation, all required work
and missed assignments are due.

Where do I find Emergency School Closing Information?
If it is necessary for an early dismissal,
it is suggested that parents discuss with their child:
- The shortest walking route between home and school
making sure that the child follows this exact
route in an emergency
situation.
- What to do in the event no one is at home when
he/she arrives
Bus students remain at school until they can
be safely transported to their homes. Please
do not call the schools when a storm is approaching.
All schools are linked
to an early
warning system and are immediately
aware of
impending emergency situations.
It is important that telephone lines be left
open for urgent official calls.
Notice will also be posted on tv stations
WNEM (CBS cable channel 7, TV 5) as well as TV 12, TV 25 and radio station WSGW (790 am, 100.5 fm) and their
