Administration
Day to day operations of the Academy are conducted
by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), who is employed by Mosaica
Education, Inc. (Mosaica) and reports to the school’s
Board of Directors. The present CAO was involved in the initial
start-up of the school and continues to assume CAO responsibilities.
There are 15 classroom teachers, two special
needs teachers, two paraprofessionals, a food service director,
three special
teachers (Art, Music, and PE), six paraprofessionals, a program facilitator, and a Reading First coach.
David J. Smith — School Leader 
Position: CAO, Principal
Experience: 32 years in public education.
Educational Philosophy: Schools built on a Community that includes all participates in the nurturing of our students will create a learning environment for our future citizens.
What I like about my job: I enjoy watching growth in our students and seeing them discover new ideas and understandings. I enjoy working with a dedicated staff and helping them grow. I enjoy working with parents and seeing them involved in their students growth.
Interests: My wife and I enjoy ballroom dancing, our cats, and we love to travel. Grandkids give us a good reason to buy stuff and relive holidays. I enjoy my wife’s cooking.

JENNIFER PARRISH — Chief Instructional Officer 
Position: Program Facilitator
or curriculum director for Bay County Academy. The Program Facilitator
is
the person to whom all the teachers can go when they need anything
for the curriculum. This can include books, art supplies, science
experiment supplies, computer programs or ideas for any subject.
Ms. Parrish is also the contact person for the enrichment program.
Experience: BA in Elementary Education from Michigan State in 1991. Taught 1 year in a classroom with non-verbal autistic students. Taught 2nd and 3rd grade (including a multiage classroom) for 5 years in Texas and Saginaw. I am completing my 10th year of working for Mosaica Education both regionally and in Mosaica schools. Masters in Educational Leadership from SVSU in 2001. Currently enrolled in the MBA program at SVSU.
Educational Philosophy: All students can and will learn if we provide them with appropriate instruction, appropriate practice, and a caring school community.
What I like about my job:I love working with teachers to help them better serve our students. I also enjoy the wide range of experiences I am getting as an instructional leader.
Interests: Reading, cross stitch, spending time with my family.

Lisa Spencer — administrative Assistant
Experience: 12 years of clerical experience.
Educational Philosophy: All children matter to me when it comes to meeting their needs at all levels. I am the type of individual that takes the time to help children through their educational challenges. My goal is to help students value their education.
What I like about my job: The position is a unique opportunity to expand my skills and fits into my lifestyle with the love I have for children. I enjoy working in a very busy atmosphere with a lot of activity. I love a challenge and work hard to attain my goals.
Special Interests: In my spare time I enjoy doing things for and with my family.
