Administration
Day to day operations of the Academy are conducted by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), who is employed by Mosaica Education, Inc. and reports to the school’s Board of Directors.
JENNIFER PARRISH — Principal/CAO and
Chief Instructional Officer
Position:Chief Academic Officer and Chief Instructional Officer (curriculum director) for Bay County Academy. Mrs. Parrish has held the position of curriculum director for the past 3 years at Bay County PSA and in January of 2009 assumed the additional role of CAO.
Experience: I received a BA in Elementary Education with a science major from Michigan State University in 1991. I substitute taught for a year in the Chelsea, MI area then decided to move to the Houston, Texas, area in the fall of 1992. I worked for one year in the Humble School District as a paraprofessional in a classroom for severely autistic children. I then got a job as a second grade teacher in the same district where I stayed for the next 4 years. After getting married in 1996, my husband and I moved back to Michigan in June of 1997 when I accepted a position with the City of Saginaw School District where I taught a 2nd/3rd grade multi-age classroom. I joined Mosaica in August of 1998 as a curriculum director and have worked in various roles for Mosaica for the past 10 years. I received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from SVSU in June 2001. I am currently pursuing my MBA from SVSU and hope to be able to complete this degree in the next few years.
Educational Philosophy: All students can and will learn if we provide them with appropriate instruction, appropriate practice, and a caring school community.
What I like about my job: I love working with teachers to help them better serve our students. I also enjoy the wide range of experiences I am getting as an instructional leader.
Interests: Spending time with my family, Saginaw Spirit hockey games, and continuing to expand my learning opportunities.

Lisa Spencer — Administrative Assistant
Experience: 12 years of clerical experience. Four years with BCPSA.
Educational Philosophy: All children matter to me when it comes to meeting their needs at all levels. I am the type of individual that takes the time to help children through their educational challenges. My goal is to help students value their education.
What I like about my job: The position is a unique opportunity to expand my skills and fits into my lifestyle with the love I have for children. I enjoy working in a very busy atmosphere with a lot of activity. I love a challenge and work hard to attain my goals.
Special Interests: In my spare time I enjoy doing things for and with my family.
