Dress/Uniform Code

Bay County Public School Academy is a uniform school. The CAO will make the final determination regarding appropriate dress and uniform.  We do not want anyone to feel they cannot attend the Academy due to concerns over obtaining uniform clothes.  We have resources, such as a uniform exchange to help parents who need uniform clothing.

The following uniform guidelines are to be followed:

Required:

• Dress shoes or tennis shoes, which are clean and in good condition, may be worn.
• Socks are to be worn at all times.
• Male and female students can wear navy or khaki pants. Jeans may not be worn except on designated days.
• Navy or khaki shorts may be worn when the temperature is 65 degrees or higher.
• Girls may wear navy or khaki skorts, skirts, or jumpers of the appropriate length.
• Burgundy, light blue, navy blue, or white polo style shirts can be worn. Logos other than Bay County Public School Academy are not permitted.
• Belts are encouraged
• On designated days, clean jeans in good condition may be worn. Uniform shirts must be worn on these days unless otherwise notified.
• Plain-colored sweatshirts or sweaters of navy, light blue, white and burgundy are acceptable as cover-ups of polos and oxford shirts.

Recommended:

• Solid colored tights with dresses and skirts (for warmth).
• For safety reasons, dress shoes should have the appropriate heel height.
• Separate shoes for physical education and inside wear.

Not Allowed:

• Tennis shoes may not have any lighting mechanisms on them.
• Hats, unless on “Spirit Days.”
• Stripes, logos or designs on shirts and polos.
• Sandals.

Uniform EXCHANGE:

Bay County PSA maintains an area with donated and gently used uniforms.  If purchasing uniform clothing is a problem, please stop in the office to find out what we have available for you and your child.
